Halloween: Soy Candle Decorating Ideas

We're getting ready for Halloween here on Madeline Island... decorating the new Madeline Island Candles shop with Pumpkins, lighting Candle-of-the-Month Pumpkin Spice soy candles, and preparing our homes for the crowds of excited trick-or-treaters tomorrow night.  While we love to use our Purity Unscented Soy Votive candles in our traditional jack-o-lanterns (they will burn all night - no need to keep replacing them!), we were thinking of some other creative uses for candles for the spookiest night of the year... here are a few festive ideas:

Drillbit Pumpkins

You may have seen this new trend in pumpkin carving: using a drill to make circular patterns on your pumpkin.  For a complete non-cut look, carve a hold in the bottom of the pumpkin rather than the top, and place your newly-created pumpkin lantern over the top of a votive or small pillar candle.

Mason Jar Walkway

Light up your walkway for little feet or for a more grown-up Halloween get-together. Place soy pillar candles in Mason Jars to line your stairs for a warm welcome.

Garden Path Pumpkins

Use garden poles to hang tiny pumpkins, a darling decoration lining a walkway or garden path.  After carving your pumpkin, insert a soy tealight candle, then attach wire by drilling tiny holes in the roof of the pumpkin. Also makes for a fun mini project for the kids before trick-or-treat begins!
