October on the Island

leafOur busy summer season in the candle shop has come and gone. And while we are still welcoming guests, our focus is turning to fall and winter.

Halloween is just around the corner, and we are getting ready to welcome the little ghosts and goblins that will find their way, through the dark and spooky night, to the candle shop for a treat (no tricks please).

But don't think we aren't busy. In the shop, we are beginning to wrap and ship packages, large and small - as our guests visit our website and buy gifts for their friends and family. In the garden, it's time to clean up, trim back and get ready for winter.

It's also the time of year when we begin to plan for new fragrances for the next year (if you have any ideas - send them our way!). We begin to plan for changes we'd like to make to the shop, and dream up additions to the garden for next season (look for a new garden water feature when you come by in the spring!).

But the big questions for the candle shop and local community revolve around details like - When will the ferry boat stop running? Will we have an ice road this year, and if so, for how long? Will there be ice caves at the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore this year? When will the first snowfall arrive?

We hope you're enjoying this beautiful autumn!
- Your friends at Madeline Island Candles
